Mission:
The Harlan Community Academy Media Center is a learning center with the purpose of supporting academic excellence and research through the use of printed materials and technology by students and staff.
 
Hours: 10:27 am – 1:05 PM  Monday - Friday (Lunch Periods Only)
 
 
Services:
Circulating library and reference collections and internet access.
 
 
Monitoring:
 
All student access to the internet is monitored by the Media Center and Computer/ Technology staff. Students who enter inappropriate websites will lose access to computers on the Public School system per the Acceptable Use Policy .This policy must be signed by students and parents. These procedures are mandated to insure the safety of children using the internet facilities of the Chicago Board of Education.

 
Access:
 
1. Teachers may sign up for access to the Media Center during their class time.
2. No students are allowed in the media center during Division or Advisory Periods unless there is signed pass in the agenda book.   
3. STUDENTS MUST PRESENT THEIR IDENTIFICATION BADGE WHEN THEY ENTER THE LIBRARY/ MEDIA CENTER. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN LOSING ACCESS TO THE MEDIA CENTER/LIBRARY.
 
 
4. NO FOOD OR DRINKS WILL BE ALLOWED AT ANY TIME IN THE LIBRARY /MEDIA CENTER!! NO EXCEPTIONS!!
 
 
Lunch Time Access Hours: 10:27 am – 1:05 PM  Monday - Friday 
Students may sign in the Media center for access . Student identification badges must be shown to register for lunch time access.
 
Rules
1. Save all work on a flash drive or email account.
2. Visiting inappropriate sites, printing without prior permission or printing inappropriate information will result in loss of access to the Media/ Library and possible disciplinary action.
3. Students may only insert flash drives into the computers
4.  Headphones or any other computer accessories may not be inserted or installed on any computer without permission from a staff member. 
 
5.  Students will have limited access to the Library/ Media Center when a class is using the Library/ Media Center.
